How to determine the right pant length

Pant length depends on the shoe it will be worn with, not a fixed measurement.

The height of the heel changes where the hem should fall, so the same pair of pants can need a different length with flats, a mid heel, or a boot.

To find the correct length at home:

  1. Put on the pants along with the shoes they will primarily be worn with.
  2. Stand naturally on a flat surface, without slouching or rising onto toes.
  3. Use a pin or a piece of tape to mark the desired finished length at the point where the hem should fall.
  4. Measure the distance between the mark and the current hem. This is the amount to be shortened.
  5. Select the matching measurement from the variant options.

As a general guide

  • Pants worn with flats or low heels typically sit closer to the top of the shoe, with little to no break.
  • Pants worn with a mid to high heel usually sit slightly higher, since the heel adds height to the leg.
  • Pants worn with boots may need to sit a touch longer to layer correctly over the boot shaft or opening.

If more than one shoe type will be worn with the same pants, note this as well so the length can reflect the best compromise.
